THERAPY, COACHING AND MINDFULNESS IN NYC
Healing begins with feeling truly seen. With over 20 years of experience, I work with adults, couples, and families in New York City who are navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, and the weight of life’s most difficult transitions — whether that’s a relationship in crisis, a career at a crossroads, grief, or the quiet struggle of feeling like you’ve lost yourself along the way.
My approach is integrative and deeply personal. I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Compassion-Focused therapy, woven together with mindfulness practices and Whole Health Coaching. What this means for you is that we don’t just talk about your problems — we work together to understand their roots, shift old patterns, and build the life you actually want.
As a South Asian Muslim therapist, I bring a culturally informed lens to my work. I understand the unique pressures that come with immigration, acculturation, family expectations, and navigating identity across cultures. Many of my clients find it meaningful to work with a therapist who truly understands where they’re coming from — without having to explain it from scratch. I also speak Bengali, Hindi, and Urdu.
Therapy takes courage. My role is to meet you exactly where you are — with honesty, compassion, and zero judgment — and walk alongside you toward where you want to be.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can make sure we’re a good fit before you commit. Reach out — that first step is often the hardest, and I’m here to make it easier.
THERAPY, MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
Finding the right psychiatric care can feel overwhelming. As a board-certified psychiatrist with years of experience, Dr. Sheikh provides comprehensive medication management for adults navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma, and beyond.
His approach goes beyond simply prescribing — he takes the time to understand the full picture of who you are, working collaboratively alongside therapy to support lasting mental wellness. He believes that the right medication, carefully matched to the right person, can be genuinely life-changing.
As a South Asian psychiatrist fluent in Hindi and Urdu, Dr. Sheikh brings cultural sensitivity and understanding to every appointment — so you can communicate openly and feel truly heard.
